Summary
Starting from the beginning of the 90s of the last century, new educational standards were developed and implemented for the higher pedagogical education level. In the article, the content standards developed and implemented for higher pedagogical education at different times are comparatively analyzed. The methodological bases and principles of the preparation of the first, second and third generation standards have been defined, and the essence of the competence-based approach has been clarified. In the article, a sample of training results for some pedagogical subjects taught in higher educational institutions was prepared.
