The role of family relationships in the process of adaptation to the school environment of class I students
Summary
First graders who have just entered the school face both a new environment and a new system of relationships. While adopting new social roles in this system of relationships, they begin to use the social skills and relationship models they have acquired in family relationships. It is known that the place where the child enters the first relationship system is the family. Research shows that children who can build trusting relationships with their parents continue to build healthy relationships with their peers and teachers at school, and as a result, this has a positive effect on their school adaptation process and academic achievement. On the other hand, the attitude of the family members of the student who has just entered the school has the power to negatively or positively influence the student's attitude towards the school.
