Summary 

This article examines the complex relationship between perfectionism and marital satisfaction in family relationships. Based on a synthesis of empirical research and theoretical frameworks, it examines how individual perfectionism tendencies influence marital dynamics and overall satisfaction. Perfectionism, characterized by unrealistic standards, self-criticism, and concerns about mistakes, has significant implications for interpersonal relationships. Through an exploration of various dimensions of perfectionism, including self-oriented, other-oriented, and socially prescribed perfectionism, the article elucidates how these tendencies manifest within the context of marriage and affect couples' interactions, communication patterns, and emotional well-being. Moreover, the article examines the role of gender, culture, and contextual factors in shaping the impact of perfectionism on marital satisfaction. It highlights the importance of considering both individual and dyadic perspectives in understanding the complexities of perfectionism within couples.
