Summary
One of the main directions of school mathematics is the development of students’ geometric imagination, logical thinking skills, and abstract reasoning. In this regard, the teaching of geometric transformations is considered one of the most important sections of the mathematics curriculum, both theoretically and practically. This article discusses the fundamental theoretical aspects, essence, properties, and the instructional sequence of various geometric transformations. Moreover, the advantages of teaching the topic progressively to students in grades VI–IX are highlighted.
