Summary
This article analyzes the process of recognition of foreign diplomas and its legal basis in the Republic of Azerbaijan. As the number of people studying abroad increases due to the influence of globalization, the recognition of their obtained qualifications in the national education system has gained great relevance. The article emphasizes the positive effects of the recognition of foreign diplomas on international cooperation, the development of human resources and the economic environment of the country. The main focus is on the role of international agreements such as the Lisbon Recognition Convention and the Bologna process in the recognition of foreign educational qualifications in Azerbaijan. In addition, the article discusses the activities of the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and examines the legal and institutional structures of the recognition process. As a result, the article highlights the importance of applying digitization and international cooperation strategies to further improve the recognition process.
