Summary
The article discusses the teaching of idioms, which make up a significant part of the lexical layer of the English language, its vocabulary. Since the tendency to idiomatic expressions is inherent in almost all languages, teaching English with idioms is considered one of the important issues. The idiomaticity of the language comes from its figurative and expressive lexical units. Since idioms are the main component of the language, with their acquisition, senior students of higher schools have the opportunity to become closely acquainted with the way of life, Customs and traditions of English-speaking peoples. To achieve the set goals, it is advisable for their students to adequately master the idioms that language carriers use in everyday domestic dialogues, political and public conversations.
