Key words: technological control, ethics, dystopia, freedom, artificial happiness

Summary

This article analyses the ethical implications of technological control in Aldous Huxley's “Brave New World”, demonstrating how the happiness created by technology undermines freedom, individuality, and moral values. In Huxley's dystopia, society is entirely built on “unity, togetherness, stability”, which can be achieved using technological innovations that involve genetic engineering, hypnopaedia, and the regular use of a drug called soma that limits emotions. Through the examination of key points in the work, this article shows that the destruction of human personality, free will, ethical values, and culture as a result of technological control and manipulation is among the issues widely discussed in today's modern world.
