The article examines the pedagogical, psychological, and social foundations of forming a sense of national pride among primary school students. The author emphasizes that national pride serves as an important moral factor contributing to the development of love for the homeland, respect for one’s people and state, loyalty to national symbols, and adherence to spiritual and moral values. The formation of this feeling takes place not only within the learning process but also through extracurricular activities such as celebrations, meetings, excursions, cultural events, and within the family environment.
The study highlights that cultivating a sense of national pride at an early school age plays a crucial role in shaping the child’s civic position, national identity, and attitude toward spiritual values. The joint efforts of the school and family in this process help students internalize national values, develop respect for the history and heroic traditions of the Azerbaijani people, and strengthen their sense of belonging.
The results of the article demonstrate that a systematic approach to national and moral education, the strengthening of cooperation between teachers and parents, and the continuous promotion of respect for national symbols and patriotism are key factors in fostering a sense of national pride among young schoolchildren. This, in turn, contributes to raising a generation of responsible, loyal, and patriotic citizens devoted to their homeland and nation.
