Summary

The primary school period is considered one of the most important stages in the formation of a child's personality. During this period, children's psychological development, adaptation to social relationships and attitude to educational activities are formed. Self-confidence is characterized by the child's belief in their own abilities, participation in new activities and efforts to achieve the set goals. Developing this quality in primary school students is one of the main tasks of the educational process. In this regard, reading activities and reading materials play an important role in the formation of children's self-confidence. Through various stories, fairy tales and literary texts, students get acquainted with the behavior of positive heroes, observe how they overcome the difficulties they encounter and draw certain conclusions from this. This process has a positive effect on the inner world and attitude of children to themselves. At the same time, the proper organization of reading activities helps children develop speech, creative thinking and freely express their ideas. The article analyzes the role of reading materials in the formation of self-confidence in primary school students, the pedagogical features of this process and the methods that can be applied in the educational process.
