Summary
The article examines the methodological foundations of regional studies in school geography in Azerbaijan, with particular focus on the teaching features reflected in the 6th- and 7th-grade textbooks. The purpose of the study is to identify the mechanisms through which regional studies are formed in geography education and to evaluate their pedagogical value. The findings show that the study of the local environment significantly contributes to the development of geographical thinking, analytical reasoning, and patriotic values among students. It is recommended to expand the opportunities for applying regional studies in textbooks and to increase field-based extracurricular research activities.
