Summary
Language teaching is a complex and dynamic system. It not only encompasses micro and macro skills, but is also influenced by perceptual, emotional, and social aspects. Language teaching is closely connected with other fields of science, especially psychology. Psychology investigates how students perceive, acquire, retain, and apply language. The article examines the role of psychology in the language learning process, including various aspects such as memory mechanisms, perception, motivation, and social interaction. Psychological foundations such as perception, attention, memory, thinking, creative activity, and imagination play an important role in learning and internalizing English grammar.
The article refers to F. Ibrahimbayov's "language storage," S. Seyidov's "motivation," S. Krashen's "affective filter," and D. Nunan's "receptive, productive, and interactive types of activities." The obtained results show that, in order to achieve full language proficiency, interactive teaching methods should be used and both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation should be high. A teacher who is familiar with psychological principles can teach lessons more effectively, clearly, and understandably for students.
