Analysis of the relationship between the feeling of loneliness and suicide thoughts in school children

Summary

As we know from Maslow's pyramid of needs, the need to belong is one of the most basic human needs. This need manifests itself most during adolescence. Every young person wants to be accepted by a certain social group, to belong to any social group, to be a part of it. Adolescents feel deeply alone when they cannot find a place for themselves in any society. This feeling can bring about many serious problems. Examples of these include asociality, suicidal tendencies or suicide attempts, alcoholism and drug addiction, etc. This article focuses on the existence of a relationship between loneliness and suicidal thoughts in school aged children during adolescence. When we look at the results obtained from school children, we see that the feeling of loneliness is higher in girls than boys. This in itself causes girls to become more introverted and pessimistic.
